PITYFULLY REPENTENT

How pitYfully I say to you dear Blog how so I have neglected you .
For I have been embroiled with my other love watercolours.
So engrossed have I been I have let thee, my other true love die. Didst hear your cruel cries it's true, but I have ignored, nay despised thee until now I bare face to you.
My heart aches with grief dear Blog and I will repent by putting fingers on keys of my other beloved, my computer.

By now you might have realised that Shakespear is on the telly.
Pray forgive me as I lay before you a broken woman.

I am a Retired Psychotherapist/Counsellor, with twenty years nursing experience before that. I had been widowed ten years ago following thirty years of marriage and I am now remarried to Brian who I met seven years ago through an internet dating agency. Between us we have three children and six grandchildren. It has been a wonderful new beginning for both of us. Neither envisaged falling in love again at sixty years old but we feel lucky to have found happiness for a second time.

My life has been full and interesting since leaving school at fifteen in 1959, turned out of the school gates, only to become factory fodder with little in the way of expectations. After a rocky start in various jobs I had my daughter at nineteen, which threw me into a whole new dimension of life where becoming an unmarried mother in 1964 was considered sordid. In order to enhance my career prospect I opted for further education, eventually training as a Registered nurse, Health visitor, Counsellor, then after twenty five years in the health service decided to train as a psychotherapist in 1987, qualifying in 1993. I was able to take into this line of work my vast knowledge of family problems and child development. Whilst on this path I had to do huge amounts of personal therapy which helped me grow and change, becoming much calmer and self reliant.

I have extensive experience in my field, working with all aspects of the human condition including relationship issues, marriage counselling, physical and sexual abuse, self esteem, loss and grief, along with many and varied attachment issues. After writing numerous of articles for my profession I spent two years as editor of a psychotherapy magazine. Throughout my therapeutic career, I have facilitated personal development workshops, women and family therapy groups, assertiveness training classes for woman and acted as both trainer and supervisor to many up and coming therapists.
Since retiring at sixty I have spent my time building and running two websites and more recently a blog.
So whatever I have to say comes from life and all it has to offer in the way of experience.

Remember if you wake up feeling rough in the morning you will go to bed feeling better in the evening. Each day brings ways of brightening your world, you just have to watch out for them.

What ever the weather, whatever life offers you remember you have a choice. In the rain you can chose to go out or stay in, when life throws shit, you can either use it on your garden or change your clothes. Remember shit makes things grow.

You will have wonderful surges forward. Then there must be a time of consolidation before the next forward surge.

Accept this as part of the process and never become downhearted.
